Sedation Options

For patients who need extra help to relax, we offer several sedation options. The doctors will recommend the option that will best suit your needs.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that reduces tension and anxiety. The effects of the gas wear off quickly once you stop inhaling it, so you will be able to drive yourself home afterwards.

Oral Sedation

With oral sedation, you will remain awake but relaxed during your procedure. The effects will take a bit of time to wear off, so, for your safety, you will need to have someone else drive you to and from your appointment.

IV Sedation

For a much deeper relaxation, Dr. Foisie is trained to administer and monitor intravenous (IV) sedation. The doctors have the most control with this type of sedation and can easily regulate its strength throughout the procedure as needed. Patients typically do not remember their procedure after receiving IV sedation, and they will need someone to bring them to and from their visit.
